About Us
Our Teachers

Our teachers and assistants guide and shape our preschoolers' experiences. We're grateful for the care and creativity they bring to the classroom everyday. Their experience and expertise in early childhood education and development means our kids are in the best hands to learn about their world and have a whole lot of fun in it!

About Lakeridge Preschool
Lakeridge Preschool was formed in 1990 as a co-operative preschool by a group of parents to provide a preschool setting in the Lakeridge area. Though it was felt at the time that a co-operative would best serve the needs of the preschool, in 2012 the decision was made to no longer operate as a co-operative. We continue to emphasize the benefit of parental involvement and member participation, while recognizing that families are not always able to volunteer their time.
With two teachers in the classroom we are always working to provide a safe, clean and inviting space for students. While parent involvement is not necessary through the classroom days, we still encourage family involvement outside of the classroom with assistance on field trip days if available.
At Preschool we use the App Remind to send home reminders, and communicate with families. We also use the App to send pictures of what the kids get up to during their time at Preschool.
Lakeridge Preschool would not be able to operate without the active involvement of parents on the Board of Directors. We are always looking for new members for the board. If any parents are interested please reach out. Read more about what is involved.

Class Routine
Each day will usually include the following:
- Circle time – group activities such as finger plays, singing and story time
- Small Motor Activities – puzzles, etc.
- Interest Centers – housekeeping, building blocks, games, etc.
- Creative Arts – painting, crafts, play dough
- Large Muscle Activities – either inside or outside
- Snack time
An important part of the curriculum at Lakeridge Preschool is our field trips! Some of the best learning takes place outside of the school-- and we've been lucky enough to partner with many local destinations and businesses to make our field trips possible! We will always let parents/caregivers know well in advance when we plan a class outing. Parents are welcome to join for these special days-- but it is not mandatory.
Board of Directors
Board positions are filled by volunteers from the preschool membership in May for the following term. Without our generous volunteers, we would not be able to operate, so please consider becoming a member of our Board and play an important role in shaping the experience of our preschoolers.
Being a part of the Board requires a small time commitment and offers the chance for a lot of fun! Meet other parents who share the common goal of creating a preschool experience that is full of fun and sets our kids on a path to love learning.
Current Board members are:
- President: Amanda Anholt
- Secretary: Brittany Shutra
- Registrar: Amanda Jones

- Fundraising: Ashley Materi
- Field Trips: Mandy Lawrence
- Media/Programmer: Raegan Dirk

Please E-mail Lakeridgepreschool@gmail.com if you are interested in joining the board.
